Importance of Reading
Reading is important because it develops our mind.Understanding the written word is one way the mind grows in its ability. Teaching young children to read helps them develop their language skills. It also helps them learn to listen. Every month of November, the English Club celebrates the English Month Celebration. The English Month Celebration's theme for this year is "Pagbasa: Susi sa Magandang Kinabukasan".This theme tells that learning to read is about listening and understanding as well as working out what is printed on the page. Through hearing stories, we students are exposed to a wide range of words. This helps us build our own vocabulary and improve our understanding when we listen, which is vital as we start to read.
